معرفی
Francesca Schenkel is a Researcher in the Department of High Frequency Systems at Ruhr University Bochum's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. She focuses on millimeter-wave and terahertz radar systems, environmental signal propagation analysis, and applications in fire/combustion monitoring and non-destructive testing. Her work includes developing radar techniques for precise ranging, plasma state supervision, and sensor fusion approaches.
- Current Affiliation: High Frequency Systems Lab
- Key Research Areas: Radar systems, THz technology, environmental signal analysis
Her research leverages advanced radar technologies for industrial and safety applications, with notable contributions in FMCW radar design, material imaging, and combustion analysis. Recent projects include the KI-ROJAL and PINK initiatives, exploring radar-based solutions for material characterization and environmental monitoring.
Publications highlight her contributions to IEEE Transactions and conferences like ICMMTS and GeMiC, addressing topics such as sub-THz signal behavior, fire detection systems, and plasma diagnostics. Francesca collaborates with Prof. Ilona Rolfes and maintains an active presence in the microwave engineering community.
