Ali-Al-Tayar is a Scientific Assistant and Research Associate at the Microwave Systems department within the Ruhr University Bochum's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. He works under Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ilona Rolfes and is affiliated with the High Frequency Systems team. His research focuses on radar-based tomography, non-destructive testing, and high-frequency antenna systems.
Research Interests: Ali’s work centers on advanced imaging techniques using microwave and high-frequency systems. He explores applications of filtered backprojection algorithms for structural analysis and develops lens antennas operating in W- and D-bands for non-invasive material characterization. His research bridges theoretical signal processing with practical engineering solutions in antenna design and tomographic imaging.
Publications: His recent work highlights contributions to radar tomography for inhomogeneous structures and innovative non-destructive testing methods using high-frequency antennas. These studies reflect a trend toward leveraging high-frequency bands (W/D) for precise imaging, emphasizing both algorithmic improvements and hardware advancements in antenna technology.
Projects: He contributes to departmental projects like KI-ROJAL, PINK, and PluTO+, focusing on microwave material characterization and high-frequency sensor systems. His team also participates in initiatives like Terahertz-NRW, exploring cutting-edge applications in terahertz and microwave domains.
Contact: Ali-Al-Tayar can be reached via email or at Room ID 04/213 in Bochum.
