Francesca Mavaracchio is an Italian architect and Project Fellow at the University of Michigan's Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, co-founding the multidisciplinary practice 4051 operating between Italy and Switzerland. She teaches architectural design and representation courses while maintaining active professional practice.
Her educational background includes an MSc in Architecture, Urbanism, and Building Sciences from TU Delft and a BSc in Urbanism from Politecnico di Milano. Research interests focus on contemporary visual representation systems and their physical manifestations in architecture, particularly through narrative translation into spatial elements as demonstrated during her 2023 MacDowell residency.
Professional experience encompasses international projects at Herzog & de Meuron across Switzerland, Italy, France, South Korea, and China. Current teaching responsibilities include Architectural Design V (2025), Imaging (2025), and Stone investigation courses (2025).
