Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron are renowned Swiss architects and professors at ETH Zurich since 1999. They co-founded both the architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron (1978) and Studio Basel, an institute for urban research. Their influential projects include Tate Modern London, Beijing National Stadium, and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Their research focuses on urban development, sustainable architecture, and cultural space design. Through Studio Basel, they explore urban landscapes and territorial transformations, notably documented in Switzerland: An Urban Portrait.
