Francesca Fiaschetti

Francesca Fiaschetti is a Research Fellow at the Martin Buber Society of Fellows, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her research focuses on the Mongol Yuan dynasty, emphasizing political ideology, identity-building, and cultural interactions between Han and non-Han Empires. She also investigates how diplomacy facilitated exchanges of knowledge, goods, artisans, and scholars between the Yuan Khanate and Southeast Asia.

Research Interests: Francesca’s work bridges Sinology and Mongolian studies, with a particular focus on Yuan dynasty historical phenomena. She explores the synthesis of Song and Yuan diplomatic traditions in trans-regional contexts, including Southeast Asian regions like Annam.

Projects: While no current projects are listed, Francesca presented her research on Yuan-Annambased diplomacy at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) colloquium in 2015, highlighting her engagement with historical exchange mechanisms.
