Dr. Francesca Ciancimino Howell is an Instructor at Naropa University, teaching MA Ecopsychology and Master of Divinity programs. With a PhD in Religious Studies from The Open University, her work bridges environmental philosophy, anthropology, and theology. She has lived in multiple countries and speaks Italian, Spanish, and French, with expertise in cross-cultural spirituality and interfaith chaplaincy spanning hospitals, hospices, and international contexts. Her research focuses on ritual practices, sacred landscapes, and foodways in Italy, informed by over a decade of fieldwork. Notable publications include Food, Festival and Religion: Materiality and Place in Italy (2018) and contributions to Journal of Pagan Studies. She is affiliated with The Parliament of World Religions and The Spiritual Care Association.
