Francesca Bacco is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Department of Management and Organisation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and holds a Visiting Fellow position. She holds a PhD from Ca' Foscari University Venice (2020), focusing on firm exploration strategies. Her work bridges entrepreneurship, strategic management, and organizational theory, emphasizing mixed-methods research (qualitative and experimental). Notable awards include the William F. Glueck Best Paper Award (2023) and the OMT Division’s Best Entrepreneurship Paper (2019).
Her teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels, coordinating courses such as 'Foundations and Forms of Entrepreneurship' and 'International Entrepreneurship.' She also leads the MBA course 'Business Modelling for Innovation.' Teaching focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, research methods, and academic writing.
