Fran Seymour

Fran Seymour is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Nursing within the Faculty of Nursing at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), located in Fredericton. She holds a Master of Nursing (MN/NP) and a Bachelor of Nursing (BN) from UNB.

Her research interests focus on Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner roles, Chronic Disease Management, Barriers to NP Role Implementation, and NP Legislation Review. Notably, she conducted unpublished research in 2005 as an Honorary Research Associate at Acadia University, exploring hypertension management through a multidisciplinary approach.

Dr. Seymour teaches advanced nursing courses including N6204 NP Roles and Issues, N6211 Advanced Health Assessment, and clinical practicum modules. She has held leadership roles in various committees such as the NP Advisory Committee (Founding Chair), Nurse Practitioners of New Brunswick Interest Group, and the Canadian Nurse Practitioner Initiative-Advisory Committee. Her volunteer work extends to legislative and health policy roles at provincial nursing colleges and the Nova Scotia Department of Health.
