Dr. Fotis Vergis is an Assistant Professor and Fellow in Law at Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge. He holds academic affiliations with the Faculty of Law, Centre for European Legal Studies (CELS), and Centre for Public Law (CPL). His research focuses on digital collective organization, EU constitutional dynamics, and labour rights.
- Education: LLB (Honours), LLM (Civil Law) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; LLM (Class I) and PhD (Yorke Prize winner) from the University of Cambridge.
Research Interests:
- Labour Law, EU Law, Constitutional Theory
- Digitized work environments and collective autonomy
- EU democratic legitimacy and 'populist constitutionalism'
Teaching: Previously held roles at the University of Manchester, including Course Director for Employment Law and Programme Director for LLB Law with Politics. Recognized with multiple teaching awards including 'Outstanding Teaching Award' and 'Programme of the Year Award'.
