Matthew Psycharis is a Bye-Fellow at Sidney Sussex College and a Governing Body Fellow at St Edmund’s College, Cambridge. He holds a College Lectureship in Law at St Edmund’s and is affiliated with the Centre for Public Law. His academic roles include teaching Constitutional Law, Trusts and Equity, and Advanced Public Law at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Law.

Matthew has contributed to empirical studies on policy referendums and comparative constitutional frameworks, reflecting trends in democratic governance and institutional design. His recent articles emphasize the interplay between judicial authority and legislative processes in constitutional crises.

As a qualified lawyer and member of the Middle Temple, he has practiced in government investigations and commercial litigation. His pro bono work includes constitutional advocacy for democratic rights and advising on refugee detention policies. He has also served as Senior Judicial Assistant to a Supreme Court of Victoria Judge.
