Florindo Fabio

Florindo Fabio is a Research Professor and Research Director at the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), specializing in geophysics and paleoclimate. He holds a PhD from the University of Southampton and a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.).

His roles include Editor in Chief of Reviews of Geophysics, President of the Earth Magnetism and Rock Physics Division at the European Geosciences Union (EGU), and Chair of the IAGA Paleomagnetism Division. He has led major projects like ANDRILL and served on international committees such as the ICDP Executive Committee and the Australian Research Council.

Research focuses on Antarctic ice sheet dynamics, palaeomagnetism, and palaeoceanography. Notable awards include AGU Fellow (2021) and Academia Europaea membership (2019). He has supervised over 222 peer-reviewed publications and authored a seminal book on Antarctic climate evolution.
