معرفی
Florina Țuluca is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics of the University of Bucharest. Her research focuses on innovative solutions for managing solid municipal waste deposits, leveraging geophysical techniques to optimize biodegradation rates, mitigate environmental risks, and enhance landfill efficiency. She actively contributes to interdisciplinary projects aimed at sustainable waste management and greenhouse gas reduction.
Dr. Țuluca leads a research team using non-invasive scanning to create 3D models of waste deposits, identifying moisture imbalances and gas emissions. This work aligns with Romania’s national and EU environmental targets, particularly reducing landfill reliance to 10% by 2035. She also advocates for methane capture as an energy resource, improving landfill gas collection systems.
Her professional roles include presidency of the Romanian Society of Applied Geophysics and vice presidency of the Balkan Geophysical Society. She promotes geophysical applications in infrastructure resilience, natural hazard mitigation, and sustainable resource management through international collaborations, such as with Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
