Florian Jug

Dr. Florian Jug is the Head of the Image Analysis Facility and Research Group Leader of the Jug Group at Human Technopole. He holds a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from ETH Zurich. His research focuses on advancing bio-image computing through machine learning and open-source tools like Fiji, CARE, and Noise2Void. He actively contributes to open science initiatives and organizes conferences such as I2K and BIC workshops.

His work emphasizes developing practical solutions for bio-image analysis, including collaborations on open methods and tools. He has spearheaded efforts in 3D FIB-SEM reconstruction and denoising techniques for microscopy. His team collaborates globally, and he advocates for FAIR data practices in bioimaging.

Florian Jug is also involved in educational initiatives, such as the DL@MBL course in Woods Hole and AI4Life challenges, promoting the application of AI in life sciences. His contributions to the BioImage Model Zoo and BioEngine highlight his commitment to accessible computational tools.
