Florence Hulot is a Lecturer at Université Paris-Saclay, affiliated with the Biology Department and the Laboratoire Écologie, Société et Évolution (IDEEV). She leads research on the ecology of shallow lakes and wetlands, focusing on abiotic factors like water column mixing, allochthonous organic matter, and temperature changes, particularly under climate and land-use change contexts.
- Co-creator of mesocosm experiments with wavemakers (Planaqua platform, Cereep Ecotron)
- Field research at Hwange National Park (Zimbabwe) via LTSER collaboration
- Teaching responsibilities in community ecology, aquatic ecology, and ecotoxicology at graduate and undergraduate levels
- Administrative roles include membership in scientific councils for ONEMA, Hwange LTSER, and Water Agency Seine-Normandie
Her research integrates controlled experiments and field studies to address climate change impacts on freshwater ecosystems. Key themes include nutrient cycling, trophic interactions, and ecosystem resilience. Recent publications highlight collaborations across ecology, chemistry, and remote sensing disciplines.
Scientific awards include the Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship. She also trains doctoral students in pedagogy and manages large-scale teaching units, including the 3rd-year program "Organism Biology and Ecology" (150 students).
