Dr. Florence Halstead is a Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow's School of Education, focusing on the intersection of climate change, education, and community collaboration. She is part of the GALLANT project (£10.2m), funded by NERC, and affiliated with the Centre for Sustainable Solutions. Her work emphasizes participatory action research and place-based initiatives to foster climate resilience and youth engagement.
Her research explores how spatial, temporal, and cultural contexts shape environmental perceptions and behaviors, with a focus on collective action to address climate challenges. She collaborates across generations, particularly engaging children and youth through participatory methodologies. Recent work includes intergenerational storytelling for climate action and analyzing grief and hope in youth activism.
