Dr Flora Lisica serves as Assistant Professor in English at Northeastern University London, specializing in Romantic literature and its intersections with visual culture. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Cambridge, an MA in History of Art from The Courtauld Institute of Art, and a BA in English with Philosophy from Northeastern University London.
Her research examines evolving conceptions of tragedy during the Romantic period, particularly in works by Keats, Byron, and the Shelleys, while exploring connections between literary expression, emotional representation, and material culture. Lisica investigates how Romantic authors engaged with visual arts traditions and transformed tragic conventions.
Her scholarly contributions include analyses of Frankenstein's cultural legacy and examinations of urban environments in Romantic poetry. She teaches courses on Shakespeare, literary criticism, London's cultural history, and tragedy studies.
