Flip Klijn is a Research Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics and a Tenured Research Scientist (Investigador Científico) at the Institute for Economic Analysis - CSIC (IAE-CSIC) in Barcelona, Spain. He holds a PhD in Economics from Tilburg University and an MSc in Mathematics from Radboud University. His research focuses on Matching Theory, Market Design, Game Theory, Operations Research, and Social Choice Theory. He has held visiting positions at universities such as Harvard Business School and Aix-Marseille School of Economics. Klijn has secured extensive funding from national and international grants, including projects on experimental economics, matching markets, and kidney exchange programs. He has authored numerous articles on topics like school choice mechanisms, housing markets, and algorithmic optimization, contributing significantly to both theoretical and applied economic research. His work often combines experimental and theoretical approaches to address real-world allocation problems.
