Fiona Whelan is a Lecturer and Coordinator of the Studio+ Dublin 8 Neighbourhood Residency in the Department of Sculpture and Expanded Practice at NCAD. She maintains a multifaceted practice as artist, writer, and educator focused on power dynamics through long-term collaborations.
Her research examines systemic inequalities through participatory projects with communities, notably her 16-year partnership with Rialto Youth Project exploring gender, class, and policing through works like 'What Does He Need?', 'Natural History of Hope', and 'Policing Dialogues'.
Significant projects include:
