Dr. Lucy Hill is an Assistant Professor of Visual Art at the School of Arts Education & Movement, DCU Institute of Education, since January 2023. Previously, she lectured part-time at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) and held roles with The Arts Council’s Creative Schools program and Helium Arts. Her research focuses on posthuman ethics, arts-based research with children, and early childhood art education. She holds a PhD in art education from NCAD (2021), awarded the Thomas Dammann Memorial Award and Irish Research Council Scholarship. Her work bridges visual art practice and academic research, with publications in Sage, Routledge, and Springer. She has exhibited widely, won public art commissions, and was the inaugural Coolahan Early Years Artist-in-Residence at The Ark.

- Consultant for Children’s Health Ireland’s National Children’s Hospital
- CPD program designer for teachers through PDST and Early Childhood Ireland
- Mentor for arts educators via Dublin City Council and The Arts Council
Labs/Teams: Collaborations with Helium Arts (supporting children with health conditions) and The Ark’s early years programs.
