Fiona King

Fiona King is Lecturer and Researcher in Art and Design Education at NCAD's School of Education, specializing in critical pedagogy approaches to art teacher education. Her scholarship examines global citizenship integration in art curricula, teacher identity formation, and the transformative potential of art practice in development education. King developed the 'Change Lab' pedagogical framework reimagining art education through activist-artist-teacher lenses.

She holds an MA and Post Graduate Diploma in Art Education from NCAD, building on her Fine Art Print background from Crawford College of Art and Design. King's research investigates how curriculum is conceptualized and implemented within initial teacher education, particularly through global education perspectives that challenge traditional art education paradigms.

Research focuses on: Critical theory applications in art education, arts-based research methodologies, digital media in learning, and development education through visual arts. She co-led the European Creative Connections project developing digital platforms for intercultural art collaboration across six countries.
