Professor Fiona Hallett is a Professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate School at Edge Hill University. Her research focuses on Inclusive Education, Autism, and Social Justice, with a particular emphasis on marginalized learners in compulsory and higher education. She has led international projects such as the EU-funded ASPIRE initiative (2012-2015) addressing disability inclusion in Georgia and Armenia, and the Erasmus+ project CATALYST (2017-2020) in Vietnam and Laos. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and RSA, and co-edits the British Journal of Special Education.
Her research employs visual methodologies like photo-elicitation to explore inclusion in Ukraine and the UK. Key areas include doctoral education equity, special educational needs policy, and implicit biases in teacher training. She has supervised postgraduate students in Inclusive Education, Social Justice, and Autism studies.
