Finn Wynstra is a Full Professor of Purchasing and Supply Management at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University, Netherlands, and a fellow of the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM). He holds an endowed chair sponsored by the Dutch Association for Purchasing Management (NEVI) and is deeply involved in research, teaching, and academic leadership across bachelor, master, PhD, MBA, and executive programs.
His research centers on purchasing and supply management, particularly the intersection of supply and innovation processes, buyer-supplier dynamics in business services, and ethical procurement. His interdisciplinary work spans operations management, marketing, and organizational studies, published in leading journals such as Journal of Operations Management, Accounting, Organizations & Society, and Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management. He co-authored influential textbooks including Buying Business Services and Developing Sourcing Capabilities.
The analysis of his recent publications reveals a strong focus on ethical issues in procurement, digital methods for literature synthesis, and complex service relationships. His work increasingly engages with sustainability and UN SDGs, particularly through ethical sourcing and integrity in supply chains.

Finn Wynstra has played a significant role in academic service and mentoring. He held leadership roles including Director of Doctoral Education and Associate Director at ERIM, and chaired Erasmus University’s taskforce on scientific integrity. He has supervised numerous PhD and master’s students and led major research collaborations across Europe and the US.
He is actively involved in international research networks and has held visiting positions at Chalmers University, Linköping University, University of Bath, Kellogg School of Management, and EBS Business School. His work contributes to advancing both theoretical and practical knowledge in supply chain and operations management.
