Her academic journey includes a Doctoral Degree (2004) and Bachelor's Degree (1997).
Dr. TUNA's research spans multiple critical areas in rehabilitation medicine, with a particular focus on neurorehabilitation and musculoskeletal disorders. Her work demonstrates significant expertise in pediatric rehabilitation (especially cerebral palsy), Parkinson's disease rehabilitation, joint hypermobility disorders, geriatric rehabilitation, and cervical spine conditions. She has made notable contributions to understanding the relationship between physical activity, sleep quality, and musculoskeletal health, as well as the impact of modern technology (like smartphones) on posture and function.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong trend toward evidence-based rehabilitation approaches, with numerous randomized controlled trials and case-control studies examining specific interventions for various conditions. Her research often bridges clinical practice with scientific validation, focusing on practical applications for improving patient outcomes in both neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. The breadth of her work spans from pediatric to geriatric populations, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Her academic contributions include extensive work on spinal disorders, osteoporosis, balance assessment, and fall prevention in elderly populations. She has also investigated the intersection of technology and rehabilitation, examining how video games and other modern tools can be integrated into therapeutic approaches for conditions like cerebral palsy.
