Filip Gertz Lysdal is a Lecturer in Sports Rehabilitation at St Mary’s University, appointed in September 2022. Previously, he held a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) under Grant 0136-00283B and was a Visiting Researcher at Loughborough University supported by multiple Danish foundations. He completed his education at Aalborg University, earning a BSc in Sports Science (2014), MSc Eng in Sports Technology (2016), and PhD in Biomedical Science and Engineering (2021) under an Industrial PhD scheme funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark and Spraino ApS.

His research focuses on mitigating sports injuries through understanding injury mechanisms. He also investigates age-related groin injuries in soccer players, published in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.
Dr. Lysdal remains affiliated with Aalborg University as an external researcher and teaching assistant, and serves as a Nationally Appointed Examiner in health science subjects. His work bridges clinical research and practical applications, with contributions to both peer-reviewed journals and industry collaborations.
