Irena Fiket is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, affiliated with the University of Belgrade. Her academic work focuses on citizen participation, democratic innovation, deliberative democracy, European identity, and the role of the Western Balkans in European higher education and public spheres.
- Former postdoctoral researcher at the Universities of Florence, Siena, Bologna, and Oslo
- Co-founder of the Standing Group on Democratic Innovation at the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR)
- President and co-founder of Club 500, a Serbian NGO dedicated to improving higher education and research quality
She has contributed to over 15 peer-reviewed publications and delivered more than 30 academic presentations and public lectures. Her research bridges theory and practice in European political systems, democratic engagement, and regional studies of the Western Balkans.
