Fieke Tychon

Fieke Tychon serves as an Assessment Expert with the Educational Innovation Team at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Health and Social Work. She joined Fontys in 2004 as a Nursing lecturer and transitioned to a full-time Assessment Expert role in 2014, focusing on educational assessment innovation. As a member of the TEA lectorate knowledge team, she shares expertise on assessment practices both within and beyond Fontys University.

Fieke holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, a Master's degree in Health Sciences, BKE, SKE, and a Master's degree in Assessment Expert. Her research interests center on educational assessment, nursing and healthcare education, test development and analysis, educational technology, hybrid learning environments, and student feedback literacy. She actively contributes to advancing assessment practices in professional healthcare education.

Her publication portfolio demonstrates expertise in test analysis, assessment validation, and communication in educational assessment. Fieke's work shows a consistent focus on practical application of assessment theory in healthcare education contexts, with particular attention to digital tools and hybrid learning environments.

Fieke is actively involved in multiple educational innovation projects including the Digital Student Portfolio implementation in Canvas, the Fontys Assessment Network which she initiated, and assessment in hybrid learning environments. She also serves on the national PD writing group for the assessment program Work Package 4 Health and Wellbeing.

Her professional activities include developing guidelines for feedback literacy, co-organizing the Fontys Exam Conference 2021, and contributing to digital knowledge testing initiatives. She played a key role in Fontys' transition to online testing during the coronavirus pandemic and developed the Manual for Interpreting Test and Item Analysis Results.
