Dr. Fidelia Danielle Renne is a Research Associate at the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford, and an associate member of Lady Margaret Hall. She earned her doctorate in International Development from Queen Elizabeth House, Oxford, and has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Politics in the Middle East and Social Movements, Revolution, and Protest as a Departmental Lecturer in Middle East Politics.
- Current research: PI on "'And Yet We Stay': A Participatory Study of Place-Making as Politics"
- Focus areas: Comparative youth politics (MENA and US), grassroots place-making initiatives
Her research interests span social movement studies, community development, civil society networks, and post-conflict social cohesion, with a focus on associational life, friendship, identity negotiation, and political engagement among youth in heterogeneous societies. Her 2024 publication in Politics and Religion examines secular-sectarian dynamics in Beirut's youth politics.
As a Research Associate, she continues to bridge academic and community-based approaches to understanding political engagement through place-making practices.
