Dr. Fernando Patino-Ramirez is an Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London, affiliated with the Geotechnics section. He holds a doctoral degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology (2016–2020) and has conducted research at Université Grenoble Alpes (2018). His work focuses on advancing underground exploration technologies, bio-inspired transportation networks, and sustainable materials engineering.
Research highlights include the development of the BRISS burrowing robot, bio-inspired algorithms for network optimization, and Engineered Granular Mixtures (EGM) for eco-friendly infrastructure. He collaborates with Prof. Catherine O'Sullivan and has affiliations with Lab 3SR in France.
