Ferit Güven is a Professor of Philosophy at Earlham College, located in Richmond, Indiana. He holds a Ph.D. from DePaul University and B.A. from Bosphorus University in Turkey. His research focuses on 19th/20th century continental philosophy, postcolonial theory, and social/political philosophy. He has led academic programs exploring themes of otherness, decolonization, and ethics.
His notable works include Decolonizing Democracy (2015) and Madness and Death in Philosophy (2005). His scholarship critically engages thinkers like Hegel, Fanon, and Heidegger to address postcolonial dilemmas and philosophical constructions of madness/death.
