Fereydoun Nikpour

Fereydoun Nikpour is a Teaching Professor at Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey. He holds a Ph.D. in Planning and Public Policy from Rutgers, alongside a B.A. and M.A. from the National University of Iran (NUI), and an M.C.R.P. (Master of City and Regional Planning) from Rutgers. His career includes extensive teaching and research in urban planning, with foundational roles in Iran’s academic and policy sectors.

Research focuses on national spatial planning, metropolitan development in developing nations, regional analysis methods, and urban design. He has contributed to Iran’s National Spatial Development Plan and Haiti’s strategic planning. His work includes housing policy, population studies, and industrial zone development in Tehran and Persian Gulf Islands.

Notable projects include guiding strategic planning for Iranian cities and supervising housing affairs in Tehran’s southern region. He received the Rose Award for Distinguished Lecturing in 2007.

Dr. Nikpour has taught at NUI and Babolsar College, and co-founded Iran’s Science and Knowledge Institute, serving as Board Head. His professional affiliations include Caspian Associates in New Jersey, where he led regional planning initiatives.
