Feng Lin is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Wayne State University (College of Engineering, Detroit, Michigan). He has held this position since 1988 after a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University (1987-1988).

His research focuses on systems and control theory, particularly discrete-event systems, hybrid systems, and robust control, with applications spanning alternative energy, biomedical systems, and automotive control. He has authored a textbook on robust control design and served as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control.
