Le Yi Wang is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University (1990) and a Master's in Computer Science from Shanghai Institute of Mechanical Engineering (now University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, 1982).
- Research focuses on system identification, networked control systems, battery management, and smart grids
- Teaches courses on power electronics, control systems, and optimal control with machine learning
His work integrates control theory with automotive and power systems, emphasizing complexity reduction and distributed optimization. He has received prestigious awards including IEEE Fellow (2012) and multiple NSF grants for automotive control systems, battery management, and cyber-physical networks. Wang has delivered keynotes at international conferences in Tokyo, Las Vegas, and China.
