Feng Chang

Feng Chang is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo, specializing in geriatric pharmacotherapy and rural healthcare. She serves as Chair of Rural Pharmacy at the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health and co-leads major research initiatives such as the Opioid Education Partnership and chronic pain management projects targeting urban and rural communities. Her work focuses on improving medication use in elderly populations, interprofessional care solutions, and enhancing healthcare provider capacity in underserved regions. Dr. Chang is also an Associate Editor of the Canadian Pharmacists Journal (since 2005) and a clinical pharmacist at the Huron Community Family Health Team.

Her research interests include rural health equity, opioid management, chronic pain, and pharmacoepidemiology. Notable awards include the 2017 CAUCE Non-credit Programming Award and multiple recognition from the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Dr. Chang has contributed to advancing electronic health communication systems and brown bag medication review programs, demonstrating her commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
