Felix Kwihangana is a Lecturer in Education and deputy programme director for the MA Digital Technologies, Communication and Education at the University of Manchester. He previously served as Senior Tutor in Digital Education and Programme Director for the MA DTCE-Distance Learning. His academic journey includes a PhD from the University of Manchester (2021), an MA in TESOL from the Manchester Institute of Education (2014), and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rwanda (2009). His research focuses on digital education in under-resourced contexts, educational policies, and the impact of AI on educational equity.
Key research interests include the deployment of digital technologies in under-resourced settings, teacher identity development, and the role of policies in shaping educational practices. He leads a pilot project exploring digital badges to enhance student engagement and career prospects. Felix has received multiple awards, including the Commonwealth Scholarship (2017) and the 2024 CODESRIA Diaspora Visiting Fellowship.
He contributes to professional networks as a Senior Fellow at Advance HE, Convenor of BERA’s Digital Technology SIG, and member of Kortext Ltd’s Teaching & Learning Advisory Panel. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and digital equity.
