Felicitas Kotsch

Felicitas Kotsch is a Lecturer for Special Assignments in the Faculty of Economics at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences, where she has taught economics and business administration subjects since 2006. With extensive practical experience from Deutsche Bank and international economic advisory roles, she brings real-world perspective to her classroom.

Dr. Kotsch's research and teaching focus on money and capital markets, currency issues, and bank management. Her expertise in post-Soviet economic transition, particularly regarding Ukraine, stems from her four-year leadership of the German Economic Advisory Group to the Ukrainian Government. She connects academic theory with practice by regularly inviting industry professionals as guest lecturers and organizing annual excursions to Frankfurt's financial center.

Her academic work demonstrates consistent focus on economic policy, financial sector development, and European integration, particularly in transitioning economies. The publications from 1999-2001 reflect her hands-on experience during Ukraine's early post-independence period.

Dr. Kotsch studied economics at the Universities of Freiburg and Kiel, including study periods in Moscow and Gdansk, and completed her diploma thesis at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Her professional journey includes Deutsche Bank positions in Berlin, Prague and Frankfurt, executive assistance to Georg Krupp for Eastern Europe matters, and editorial work at Deutsche Bank Research.
