Felice Italo Beneduce is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Italian at Columbia University and serves as Director of the Language Program (DLP). His research focuses on the fantastic in Italian literature and cinema, Italian-American cultural studies, immigrant literature, and Judaic Italian Studies, with a particular emphasis on Primo Levi and the trauma of anti-Semitism. Beneduce holds a Ph.D. in Italian Literary and Cultural Studies from the University of Connecticut, an M.A. from the same institution, and a laurea in Italian/English Translation Studies from the University of Trieste.
He has taught at Columbia since joining and previously held positions at Trinity College, Brown University, and others. His courses include 'Italian Through Cinema,' 'Elementary Italian II,' and specialized topics like 'The Italian/American Experience in Literature and Film.'
