Felice Elefant

Felice Elefant is a Professor at Drexel University's Department of Biology within the College of Arts and Sciences. She directs the Biology Graduate Program and investigates epigenetic mechanisms underlying cognitive function and neurodegenerative diseases.

Her research focuses on epigenetic gene regulation in the brain, particularly histone acetylation dynamics involving HATs/HDACs balance. This work has implications for understanding Alzheimer's disease etiology and developing epigenetic therapies for cognitive restoration.

Recent publications highlight her work on Tip60 HAT's role in neurodegenerative models, synaptic plasticity, circadian rhythms, and developmental processes. These studies span neuroepigenetics, chromatin biology, and translational neuroscience with applications in disease modeling and drug discovery.
