معرفی
Federico Gomez is a Professor in the Division of Food and Pharma at Lund University's Faculty of Engineering (LTH). He is an active researcher and supervisor, contributing significantly to interdisciplinary studies in food and plant sciences. His work integrates engineering, biology, and sustainability, with a strong focus on innovative food processing technologies.
Research Interests: His primary research areas include pulsed electric fields, moderate electric fields, vacuum impregnation, and solar drying of fruits. These technologies aim to improve food quality, shelf life, and sustainability, particularly in developing regions. He explores stress physiology in plants and the impact of electrical treatments on seed germination and freezing tolerance.
The recent publications highlight a consistent trend in applying electroporation-based methods to enhance food processing and plant resilience. Research spans from fundamental biophysical mechanisms to industrial applications, including the development of plant-based beverages and preservation techniques. His work bridges laboratory innovation with real-world impact through technology transfer and startup formation.
