Håkan Jönsson is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Lund University, holding positions in both the Division of Food and Pharma and the Division of Ethnology at Lund Institute of Technology (LTH). He is also a visiting professor in Food Studies at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) Alnarp since 2021. His roles include Programme Director for the Master's Programme in Food Systems at LTH.
Research focuses on food systems, cultural analysis of food practices, and sustainable development. Notable projects include collaborations on European food systems, participatory impact assessments, and the social dimensions of eating. He contributes to UN SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption).
Key awards include the Gastronomiska akademiens Silvermedalj (2016) and Måltidsakademins pris (2018). He actively engages in media, public lectures, and international conferences. His work bridges academia and application, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches.
Teaching spans food studies, cultural analysis, and sustainability, including co-developing the MACA program. Current research networks include FOSSNET (European Food Systems Network) and NextFood initiatives.
