Fay Giæver is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She holds a MSc from the University of Reading (2003) and a PhD from NTNU (2009). Her research focuses on emotions and coping in organizational contexts, including sustainability-driven organizations, environmental activism, and mental health in the workplace. Giæver leads the 'Greening Organizations' research group and contributes to the KLIMAFORSK MEATigation project on sustainable meat consumption.
Her work explores how emotions influence organizational change, artistic interventions (e.g., choral singing) for well-being, and the challenges of presenteeism among healthcare professionals. Notable contributions include studies on caregiver presenteeism, physician well-being, and the role of emotion regulation in environmental activism. She has published extensively in journals like Social Movement Studies, Gruppe. Interaktion. Organisation., and Arts and Health.
