Dr. Faten Al-Salti is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and Lead for Research Ethics at Sheffield Hallam University's School of Health and Social Care. She holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Nursing, with over 20 years of experience in nursing education, clinical practice, and research. Her roles include mentoring PhD students and overseeing ethical research processes through her position in the College of Health and Wellbeing & Life Sciences Research Ethics Committee.
Her teaching focuses on BSc/MSc Nursing and PhD healthcare programs, emphasizing diversity, human rights, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Key research areas include antimicrobial stewardship, cultural competency in healthcare, and health inequalities affecting minority communities. Notable projects include a Hallam Fund-supported study on Muslim women's inclusion in health research and a scoping review of mental health access for young asylum seekers.
Professional memberships include the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Royal College of Nursing (RCN), and leadership roles in the UK Arab Academic Association. She actively engages in conferences, media promotions for nursing education, and initiatives to improve ethnic minority healthcare experiences.
