معرفی
Fatema Amijee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of British Columbia, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts. Her research spans metaphysics, modern philosophy, feminist philosophy (especially depatriarchalizing strategies in Quranic interpretation), and the history of analytic philosophy (focusing on Frege, Russell, and early Wittgenstein). She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and is based in Buchanan E 369.
Research Interests: Her work centers on the Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR), examining its role in early modern rationalism (Leibniz, Spinoza, Du Châtelet) and contemporary metaphysics. She investigates how the PSR aligns with modern metaphysical developments and whether it conflicts with the concept of a fundamental level of reality. Additional topics include Kant's transcendental idealism, numerical identity, metaphysical emergence, and methodological rigor in metaphysics.
Teaching: While not explicitly listed as an instructor in the provided course data, she is affiliated with UBC's Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy programs in Philosophy. Her research interests suggest engagement with courses in metaphysics, feminist philosophy, and analytic traditions.
