Fariha Naeem is a Clinical Lecturer and Specialist Registrar in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Glasgow, based within the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health. She completed pre-clinical studies at the University of Cambridge (including an intercalated year in Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience) and clinical studies at the University of Oxford (First Class Honours, 2013). Her clinical training began in the West of Scotland, with specialist registrar training in Geriatric Medicine starting in 2017.
Her research focuses on frailty, cognitive decline, stroke, and older adult health. She has contributed to systematic reviews (e.g., on Parkinson’s disease sialorrhoea) and collaborates with researchers in delirium management and geriatric syndromes. Teaching commitments include undergraduate instruction and clinical mentorship.
Recent publications analyze delirium care barriers in Scotland, explore frailty’s role in stroke outcomes, and evaluate pharmacological interventions for neurological symptoms in aging populations. She aims to bridge clinical practice with academic research to improve care for elderly patients.
