Farah Qureshi is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Colby College, specializing in the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital financial technologies, and social inequality in East Africa. Her research focuses on Kenya's digital economy, particularly how algorithmic systems perpetuate exclusion through mobile lending, credit scoring, and pay-as-you-go services. She holds a PhD from UC Irvine and has conducted fieldwork in Kenya and Rwanda.

Her research challenges narratives of financial inclusion by revealing how AI-driven systems create digital debt traps. Current projects include studies on fintech credit scoring, mobile gambling platforms, and automated decision-making in Africa. She teaches courses like 'AI and Inequality' and 'Anthropology of Money.'
Awards: 2021 Emslie Horniman Award for outstanding research in cultural anthropology.
