Fangzhi He is an Assistant Professor at Davidson College, affiliated with the Writing Program and the John Crosland Jr. Center for Teaching and Learning. She works in the E.H. Little Library, providing expertise in multilingual academic writing support.
- Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from University of Rochester
- M.A. from Fudan University
- B.A. from Dalian University of Technology
Her research focuses on the intersection of writing practices and identity construction, particularly examining how cultural/social identities influence literacy development and how individuals adopt writing practices to align with specific social groups. She has published in both Chinese and English on intercultural competence, humor, and academic writing pedagogy.
With prior experience teaching English at a STEM university in China and serving as a visiting associate professor in the United Kingdom, she specializes in supporting international students navigating U.S. academic writing conventions.
