Fangyi Li is a PhD researcher at Edinburgh Law School, specializing in transitional justice and international law. Her work focuses on global-local frictions in post-conflict justice in Cambodia and Timor-Leste, with a particular emphasis on victims' rights and regional particularism.

- Second LLM in Human Rights Law from the London School of Economics (LSE)
Her research spans international criminal law, international humanitarian law, and the legal frameworks governing the use of force in armed conflicts. She employs interdisciplinary approaches to analyze transitional justice mechanisms, particularly how local cultural and spiritual practices intersect with formal legal processes.
Her recent publications and conference presentations explore themes like Buddhist justice in Cambodia, affective dimensions of legal judgments, and sensory criminology. She has presented at events hosted by KU Leuven, University of Birmingham, Ghent University, and the University of Jyväskylä.
Fangyi has teaching experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including tutorials on International Law and seminars on Transitional Justice.
