Dr. Kyra Wigard is an Assistant Professor at the Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology at Utrecht University. She holds a PhD from KU Leuven and teaches international criminal law and criminal procedure at both bachelor’s and master’s levels. Her research focuses on international judges’ decision-making, particularly at the ICC and ICJ, and she publishes on topics like gender persecution, state interventions, and judicial methodologies in international law. She has held roles at the International Federation for Human Rights and Armanshahr/OPEN ASIA, contributing to ICC-related research.
