معرفی
Dr Faizan Ahmad is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at Birmingham City University's Centre for Life and Sport Sciences. His work spans academia and industry, focusing on soft tissue mechanics, cardiac biomechanics, and computational simulations for biomedical applications.
His research explores the biomechanical and structural properties of heart tissue, particularly aging-related growth and remodelling effects on ventricular mechanics. This includes developing constitutive models for age-dependent cardiac simulations to advance cardiovascular disease treatments.
- Secured £800K EPSRC funding for age-dependent cardiac biomechanics research.
- Collaborated with Cardiff, Swansea, and Glasgow Universities to integrate pilot data from his PhD into grant applications.
Dr Ahmad's industry background in aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing engineering informs his academic practice. He supervises postgraduate research projects and serves as a course leader, bridging theoretical and applied engineering disciplines.
