Faith Gordon is Associate Professor and Deputy Associate Dean of Research at ANU College of Law. Her interdisciplinary research examines youth justice, children's rights in digital environments, media representations, and counter-terrorism impacts on young people. She directs the Interdisciplinary International Youth Justice Network and co-founded the ANZSOC Thematic Group on youth justice.
Research interests span three interconnected domains: 1) Legal frameworks for protecting young people online; 2) Youth experiences within criminal justice systems; 3) Media representations of young people in transitional societies. Her work emphasizes rights-based approaches and participatory methodologies.
Recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate strong focus on digital rights, online safety regulation, and counter-terrorism legislation affecting children. Trending research areas include facial recognition technology impacts, youth experiences in rural justice systems, and social media's role in violence prevention campaigns.
