Fabio D'Addona is a Research Associate at the German Institute of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz since 2022. Currently working on a doctoral project on the idyllic aspects of Romanticism, he is associated with Prof. Dr. Barbara Thums' Chair and participates in the mini-graduate program The Aesthetic Inventions of Ecology around 1800. His research bridges literary analysis with ecocritical and postcolonial perspectives.

Recent publications examine Johann Gottfried Herder's Negro Idylls through lenses of colonial memory and aesthetic contradictions. His teaching includes courses on Weimar Classicism, Friedrich Hölderlin, and introductory seminars on modern German literature. Conference lectures explore Romanticism's transgressive poetics and idyllic colonial fantasies.
